 | Welcome to the Tipperary Branch website. The branch decided to purchase a colt foal this year. This foal was purchased at the Oct sales in Cavan equestrian centre for €2800. His sire is Classic Vision out of a Uibh Fhaille mare, born on 15/4/07. To learn more about the process of taking a colt all the way to full R.I.D. status as a stallion, the foal was entered for the colt retention scheme. Each member has an oppurtunity to keep in touch with this foal's progress and hopefully to learn from his sucess(failure???). With this in mind each member will have a chance to assess the foal at an agreed venue over Christmas. The foal has been inspected by the appointed judges and vet in Ballinasloe. His marks are expected in January '08. Using the exact same marking sheet, our members can judge the foal and compare their marks with the final result. Hopefully we can gain some more insight/knowledge and experience of what it takes to achieve full R.I.D status,eg. time, effort, money, emotional turmoil, etc. |
